This document specifies a quantitative method, using proton (1H) nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectrometry, for the determination of epoxidation and ring opening level of raw ENR. This method applies to ENR of all grades available commercially.
Epoxidation and ring opening level are very important parameters to check epoxidized natural rubber (ENR) quality. The establishment of test method for determination of epoxidation and ring opening level of ENR is very important as these parameters are included as specifications of requirement for ENR in ISO 24483. Currently there is no standard test method available for the determination of epoxidation ang ring opening level. The propose test method will be an important document to support ISO 24483.
