ISO/TC 54 N3155 - ISO/NP TS 4906 "Essential oils - Name harmonization of components"

Scope

This document specifies the names of the components to be used in the standards. It establishes the correspondence between the English and French names and gives the corresponding RN from CAS number of each of them.

It is applicable to all standards of the field “Essential oils”. This document makes it possible harmonizing the names of the components mentioned in the standards.

Usual names of components commonly accepted by the profession are preferred to those of the IUPAC or CAS nomenclatures.

Purpose

This document was developed in the response of the need to harmonize the names of the components mentioned in the standards. It precisely defines the compound named (e.g. type of isomer) and gives the corresponding Registry Number (RN) from CAS.
