ISO/TC31/SC9 N656 - ISO/PWI 24163-2 Clamp-in Tyre Valves For Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems -- Part 2 Test methods and performance

Scope

This document specifies test methods for TPMS clamp-in tubeless valves. These methods are defined to determine the minimum level of performance requested. This standard applies to the tyre valve assembled on the rim hole with diameter of 11.3 mm for passenger cars or for light duty vehicles.

Purpose

The aim of this NP 24163-2 is to clarify test methods in order to determine the minimum level of performance requested, in order to guarantee the quality of the product in the field, and to provide to the valve manufacturer a common basis to evaluate these performances.

A similar international standard for Snap-in tyre valves for TPMS is already published : ISO 18885-3 A similar international standard for Clamp-in tyre valves without TPMS is already published : ISO 14960-2
