ISO/TC31/SC9 N655 - ISO/PWI 24163-1 Clamp-in Tyre Valves For Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems -- Part 1 Definition, types, dimensions and valve interface

Scope

This document specifies types of clamp-in TPMS tubeless valves and associated requirements. It applies to the tyre valves assembled on a rim valve hole with a diameter of 11.3mm for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles (M1 and N1 categories following UN regulation). This document does not include the design, development or requirements of the TPMS housing or the interface between said housing and the valve.

Purpose

An international standard for Clamp-in tyre valves for TPMS is a verified market need. These valves are already on the field, and there are no international standard in order to align the inspection of the performances of the valves. Each valve manufacturers have their own product performance standard.
