Following the decision 28, taken on 2015-04-28 in Paris, CEN/TC 152/WG 1 “Rides” experts agreed to create a technical report to provide a tool which allows designers to categorise a component in terms of its criticality and then choose appropriate quality requirements for the manufacture of the component. Work has already been conducted in this domain as part of the EN13814 standard revision. The preferred solution which will be elaborated in this report requires field testing to ensure that the component categorisation and manufacturing quality levels proposed are suitable for the wide range of products which are created as parts of amusement rides.
The NWI for CEN/TR 13814-4 was already registered in CEN/TC 152 programme in 2015, as WI 00152012, but was deleted since as CEN/TC 152/WG 1 “Rides” had not time to work on this topic. During the last CEN/TC 152/WG 1 meeting on the 5th and the 6th of February 2020, the work on prCEN/TR 13814-4 was resumed, and the recommendation was taken to re-register a NWI in CEN/TC 152 work programme.
