Imposed loads defined in EN 1991-2 are applicable for the design of new bridges, including piers, abutments, upstand walls, wing walls and flank walls, noise barriers, canopies etc., and their foundations. They can also be applied for assessment or modification of existing structures in combination with complementary conditions where appropriate
The load models and values defined in EN 1991-2 are also applicable for the design of retaining walls adjacent to roads and railway lines and earthworks carrying/bearing road or railway traffic.
Revision of EN 1991-2 according to Mandate M/515. The title of EN 1991-2 was amended as follows: “Traffic Loads on bridges and other civil engineering works.”
