Scope

This standard specifies test methods of the total exchange capacity, the salt-splitting capacity and the weak group capacity of the styrene type anion exchange resins in hydroxide form.

This standard applies to the determination of the total exchange capacity, the salt-splitting capacity and the weak group capacity of the styrene type anion exchange resins in hydroxide form.

Purpose

Exchange capacity of anion exchange resin is an important performance index. The factory types are mainly OH type and Cl type. In the actual using process, especially in the water treatment industry, the application type is OH type. Therefore, the determination of exchange capacity of anion exchange resins in hydroxide form has more practical value. In addition, the changing of the salt-splitting capacity and the weak group capacity indicate the degree of contamination and degradation of the resin. At present, other countries, such as, America only have the determination method of Cl type. China GB/ T 5760-2000 has put forward a exchange capacity test method for OH-type anion exchange resin, and after years of practical application, the reliability of the method has been fully verified.
