It is applicable for unmanned aerial spraying systems attached to the unmanned agricultural aircraft systems (UAAS) with the intention of applying liquid evenly over a horizontal surface. This part of ISO 23117 specifies field measurements of spray deposition to determine the quantity and distribution of spray, in a plane surface area in the transverse direction, treated by UASS with downward directed application.
Provide the benchmark requirements and measurement method in a horizontal plane for unmanned aerial spraying system used for the application of plant protection products and fertilizers.
Currently ISO 16119-5 Aerial spraying systems specifically exclude unmanned systems. The growing popularity and potential for unmanned to be employed for the application of crop protection and crop husbandry products highlights the requirement for an associated standard.
When the measurement method of these systems have been formulated as a standard work will extend to establish standards for the testing of performance parameters.
