Standards Development
This European Standard specifies minimum requirements for half masks and quarter masks for use as part of respiratory protective devices (RPD), except escape apparatus and diving apparatus.
Laboratory and practical performance tests are included for the assessment of compliance with the requirements.
Due to the new PPE Regulation and in accordance with the PPE Standardization request (not formally approved) it is necessary to revise the standards developed under the responsibility of CEN/TC 79.
In addition DECISION 12 taken by CEN/TC 79 on 2016-05-12 at the meeting in London contains the withdrawal of EN 13274-8 "Respiratory protective devices - Methods of test - Part 8: Determination of dolomite dust clogging" which was put on hold until all product standards referring to Part 8 have been revised.
