Scope

This part defines a set of terms and definitions of cupola furnaces, pouring devices and ladles in foundry machinery.

It applies to standard development in foundry machinery field, technical documentation, related scientific and technical publications, etc.

Purpose

Up to now, there is no international terminology standard available for cupola furnaces, pouring devices and ladles. But such machines are widely used in the market. In order to facilitate exchanges in international trade and economic cooperation, such a standard is a necessity.
