Scope

This part defines a set of terms and definitions of abrasive blasting machines and other equipment related to cleaning and finishing for casting in foundry machinery.

It applies to standard development in foundry machinery field, technical documentation, related scientific and technical publication, etc.

Purpose

Up to now, there is no international terminology standard available for abrasive blasting machines, degating devices, decoring machines, grind fettling machines and other equipment related to cleaning and finishing for casting. But such machines are widely used and relevant to the market. In order to facilitate exchanges in the international trades and economic cooperation, such a standard is necessary.
