This part of ISO 11199 includes all walking frames, rollators, walking tables, and walking trolleys which have power assist systems. In other word, this part of ISO 11199 is not applicable to any of them which are fully operated manually.
The requirements and test methods specified by other parts of 11199 such as 11199-1, 1199-2, 11199-3 as well as ISO19894 shall be applied to assistive products for walking manipulated by both arms with power assist system accordingly.
The requirements and tests are based on everyday usage of assistive products for walking manipulated by both arms with power assist system, for a maximum user mass as specified by the manufacturer. This part of ISO 11199 includes assistive products for walking manipulated by both arms with power assist system specified for a user mass of not less than 35kg.
