ISO/TC 22 N3992 ISO/PWI 23820 Road vehicles - Determination of the filtration efficiency of urea filter modules

Scope

In order to regenerate the particle filter (FAP), there is a need to qualify the urea filter.

This proposal aims to provide a dynamic method which simulates the fluid urea and the particular pollution and makes determine the dirt holding capacity and the particulate filtration efficiency of urea filter.

Purpose

• Increasing need to process the fumes issued from the combustion of diesel fuel in automotive and heavy duty engines

• Need to regenerate FAP with injection of urea

• Need to have available filtered urea all the engine life long The standard should help the urea system manufacturer to design the effective urea filtration area and its associated particulate filtration efficiency.
