ISO/TC 22 N3987 - ISO/PWI TS 24604 - Road vehicles — Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) refuelling adaptor

Scope

The scope proposed includes the minimum requirements for design, safety specifications, type and production approval for an external adaptor which is required for the safe refuelling of vehicles which do not come with a connector fitted from the factory.

Purpose

Currently the vast majority of new LPG cars do not have a connector as integral part of its chassis and the fact that there is no standard for its requirements. The use of adaptors which do not comply with minimum requirements for quality, tolerances and other safety aspects can put at risk the safety of the individuals performing the refuelling and potentially cause severe bodily and property damages.
