This document specifies the requirements of methyl vinyl silicone rubber.
This document is applicable to silicone rubbers with methyl substituents and a small amount of vinyl substituents.
Types of silicone rubber: heat vulcanized silicone rubber, room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber, liquid silicone rubber and etc.
Silicone rubber is an elastomer with Si-O as main chain. Compare to other rubbers, silicone rubber has better heat resistance, cold tolerance, weather fastness, electrical resistivity, radiation resistance, flame retardance, chemical stability, air permeability, biocompatibility and etc.
Silicone rubber is widely used in aerospace, automotive, electromechanical, chemical, life and pharmaceutical industry, for examples: seal rings and seal tubes with high and low temperature resistance, sealing material used in outdoors, electrical parts, arrester, thermal conductive roller in printer and fax machine, isolated cable, connectors used in nuclear power plant, artificial organ and artificial, etc.
Silicone rubber as a new material, with a 10% increase each year, the usage is getting bigger and bigger. The global output, demand and usage of silicone rubber in 2018 is 1.6 million tons, 1.35 million tons and 1.00 million tons.
For the past few years, with more and more use of silicone, the demand of methyl vinyl silicone rubber is also increasing. China mainly imports from Amerca, Germany, Japan and Korea and exports to India, Korea, Vietnam and so on.
