Standards Development
The objectives of the technical report is to provide information describing the process, progress or results of a legal, methodology, technical or scientific research. It will also provide information on the current state of any legal, methodology, technical or scientific research issues and it will incorporate recommendations and conclusions concerning the subject matters of this Technical Report. The subject matters contained within the Technical Report support the Scope and the text contained within the Standard.
The purpose has been defined by the needs of the draft Standard prEN 17436. In the course of the drafting of the Standard both Aviation Industry and Aviation Users considered and provided considerable information to accompany the requirements of the Standard, particularly in the fields of Aviation Regulations, The Methodology of the Standard and Chemical Compounds. The information created provides both description of process, progress, results and indeed the current state of legal, methodology, technical and on scientific research issues; the information also incorporates recommendations and conclusions on these subject matters. The purpose is also designed to ensure that the ‘technicality’ of the Standard is not lost within the information provided. The creation of the Technical Report is justified by maintaining this extensive knowledge set acquired during the drafting of the Standard, ensuring that the actual Standard is not overloaded with detail and that its ‘technical’ function is preserved and that the information, embodied within a Technical Report, provides a useful point of reference to the users of the Standard, when they come to consider the requirements imposed by the Standard. Placing information that is important to the Standard in a Technical Report ensures that the Standard conforms with CEN requirements by making sure that those that implement the Standard have ease of access to all key and relevant information.
