Scope
This proposal, specifies technical requirements and test methods for high strength and wear resistant flat steel products . The product is intended for applications where high wear resistance and high strength is of prime importance.
This product is commonly produced in thicknesses from 1.8 mm to 100 mm and in widths of 600 mm and over, in cut lengths.
High strength and wear resistant flat steel products are deliveried in direct quenching (accelerated cooling direcly after hot rolling) or conventional quenching , or quenched and tempered . These products are designation by steel grades based on Typical Brinell hardness (HBW): 400-450- 500-550 and 600. (for example: AR*400,AR450,….)
* Abrasion Resistance
Purpose
High strength and wear resistant flat steel products designed for applications where high wear resistance and high strength are required. These products are used in industry field such;oil, mines , cement factories, wagon-making, road construction machinery,and steel mill. Nowadays, there is an increasing public demand for applications such as excavators, front wheel loaders, tipper bodies, mining trucks, containers, crushers, fragmentizers, mixers, sieves, demolition tools and barges for applications such as excavators, front wheel loaders, tipper bodies, mining trucks, containers, crushers, fragmentizers, mixers, sieves, demolition tools and barges.
Despite the importance of these types of flat products and the widespread use of these, So far there is no specific standard for these purposes in ISO documents.For this reason, the purpose of this proposal is to prepare this standard.
