CEN/TC 165 N 3219, EN ISO 11296-9 Plastics piping systems for the renovation of underground non-pressure drainage and sewerage networks - Part 9: Lining with a rigidly anchored plastics inner layer

Scope

This document, in conjunction with EN ISO 11296-1, specifies requirements and test methods for pipes and fittings for the renovation of underground non-pressure drainage and sewerage networks by lining with a single rigid annulus of structural cementitious grout formed behind a plastics inner layer. This plastics layer serves as permanent formwork anchored to the grout. This document is applicable to plastics inner layers and grout systems with or without steel reinforcement. It does not apply to the structural design of the lining system.

NOTE Systems with multiple annuli are available, but these are controlled by patent rights and not covered by this Standard.

Purpose

ISO/TC 138/SC 8 has adopted the new project ISO/AWI 11296-9 "Plastics piping systems for the renovation of underground non-pressure drainage and sewerage networks - Part 9: Lining with a rigidly anchored plastics inner layer".

The project is also in the scope of CEN/TC 165. To prevent unnecessary overlap of activities and to optimize experts input, the new ISO project should be developed as EN ISO under the Vienna Agreement.

The purpose of the proposal is to update and convert the existing EN 16506:2014 "Systems for renovation of drains and sewers - Lining with a rigidly anchored plastics inner layer (RAPL)" to an EN ISO standard within the ISO 11296 "Plastics piping systems for renovation of underground non-pressure drainage and sewerage networks" family of standards.

The trenchless renovation of pipeline networks is growing globally and inclusion of the standard within the existing ISO 11296 series (and alignment to the existing structure thereof) will assist those seeking information on the techniques through association with the existing related renovation standards.
