Scope

This document provides guidance to organizations on how to establish, use and maintain energy performance Indicators (EnPIs) and energy baselines (EnBs) to evaluate energy performance. This includes how to measure and monitor energy performance and demonstrate energy performance improvement.

The guidance in this document is applicable to any organization, regardless of its type, size, complexity, geographical location, organizational culture, the products and services it provides or its level of maturity in the field of energy management.

Purpose

ISO 50001 has been revised to be in the High Level Structure and to address improvements identified by the experts including aspects related to energy performance improvement, so the associated guidance standard ISO 50006 needs to be updated accordingly.
