Standards Development
The standard scope of mass customization(MC) contains four essential factors: the system architecture of MC, the procedure description of MC, the implement requirements of MC, and the key technologies application in MC process. Several standards will likely be utilized if they are consistent with each other. The MC Study Group(SG) will explore the ways in which MC can be used to examine issues of consistency between standards. MC SG will develop potential guidelines and assessment specifications for incorporating modelling as an integral part of both existing and contemplated standards for ensuring consistency and interoperability within and across the suite of SC5 standards.
1. Definition of MC and the terminologies used in the whole process of MC
2. In a user-driven model of MC, users get involved throughout the whole process of enterprises, which means BPR (business process reengineer) has to be made in enterprises, which allows interaction of both parties making progress. MC Study Group (SG) will work to show the new business architecture of MC and most commonly used digital tools for different functioning point adopted, and also show what kind of the information that flows in interaction process.
3. With the operations of MC, the high efficient interlinkage and interoperability of existing digital systems and the new-built digital systems in enterprises would be realized, to come up to best integration of manufacturing side and the business (office administration) side. MC SG is going to describe and standardize the operation procedures, to show how different sections of the enterprises including their working systems to cope together under MC.
4. Key technologies apply in the whole process of MC, including user interaction, R&D, product validation, manufacture, delivery and services, to enhance user experiences.
5. Overall, MC SG output provides reference information to be used by the manufacturing enterprises for designing and implementing their business modes of MC, to change the originally enterprise-oriented to user-oriented.
