EN 1990 is intended to be used in conjunction with EN 1991 to EN 1999 for the structural design of buildings and civil engineering works, including geotechnical aspects, structural fire design, situations involving earthquakes, execution and temporary structures. EN 1990 is applicable for the design of structures where other materials or other actions outside the scope of EN 1991 to EN 1999 are involved. EN 1990 is applicable for the structural appraisal of existing construction, in developing the design of repairs and alterations or in assessing changes of use.
The National Annex to BS EN 1990 provides the Nationally Determined Parameters where national choice is allowed.
This National Annex is intended to provide best practice guidance on using BS EN 1990 – Eurocode Basis of structural design, as well as to provide values of the Nationally Determined Parameters that have been left to national choice. For information contained in the Annexes within EN 1990, the National Annex provides guidance on which of those should and should not be used in the UK.
The NA to Annex A2 of EN 1990 provides information on combination and partial factors but currently there is no information provided on the partial and combination factors for RL loading. This amendment will add that information.
