ISO/TC 33 N 1235 - ISO/NP 24467 Refractory materials -- Determination of tensile strength at room temperature

Scope

This standard specifies a method for the determination of tensile strength at room temperature for refractory materials. This international standard can be applied to the determination of tensile strength at room temperature for dense shaped refractory products and dense unshaped refractory products. The method can be referred to shaped insulating refractory products and unshaped insulating refractory products.

Purpose

The tensile strength identifies the maximum fracture resistance of uniform plastic deformation to materials. It is an important indicator of the refractories' performance. The service life of furnace is directly influenced by its tensile strength. This proposal has its guiding significance on both the selection and the use of refractory materials.
