Find out what cookies we use and how to disable themThis International Standard establishes the minimum performance requirements and tests for restraint systems — seat belts and their fastening elements (anchorages) — on earth-moving machinery, necessary to restrain an operator or rider within a roll-over protective structure (ROPS) in the event of a machine roll-over (see ISO 3471 and ISO 12117-2), or within a tip-over protection structure (TOPS) in the event of a machine tip-over (see ISO 12117-1).
On the basis of the analysis of the main relevant international standards dealing with performance requirements for restraint systems installed on machines used also in other sectors (e.g. ISO 3776 series, SAE J 386), the main purpose of the proposal is to compare and, if necessary, update and align the requirements already present in the actual standard with respect to the most recent edition of the aforementioned international standards.
