Scope
A Sustainable Finance Framework standard that integrates sustainability considerations including environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices into institutional investment and decision making and wider finance management
Purpose
There is an urgent need to accelerate the transition towards a sustainable global economy, to meet the Paris Agreement on climate change goal , and align activities with the targets of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development , specifically the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Business activities aligned with the transition to a low-carbon, resource-efficient economy, are key to ensuring sustainable prosperity.
The Sustainable Finance Framework standard will provide:
• practical guidance on sustainable finance principles and practices;
• common terminology (e.g. terms and definitions) used in sustainable finance;
• implementation of good practice guidance of sustainable finance principles within financial organizations; and
• demonstration of alignment with good practice through consistent public disclosures;
