1.3.3 (5): Replace the whole paragraph (5) with “The functional design of silos (quality of flow) is outside the scope of this document.”

1.3.3 (5) Add the following NOTE after 1.3.3. (5)

NOTE Blockage of the outlet is known to be possible if particle sizes exceed do/8, where do is the characteristic dimension of the outlet, or if the flowing behaviour under gravity is significantly affected by cohesion.

 

1.3.3 (6): Replace the whole paragraph (6) with “Loads that arise from silo quaking, shocks, honking,

pounding and silo music are not defined in this document, and this specific aspect of design is classified as Action Assessment Class AAC4.”

 

1.3.3.(6) Delete the NOTE.

2 Modification to Annex B, "(informative) Actions and combinations of actions on tanks "

B.4.1(1): - Add “, insulation” between “equipment” and “and”

B.4.1: - Add a new paragraph “(3) When using granular materials, usually filled into annular spaces for insulation, the actions should be taken from Clause 7 with the load modifying factor κar = 1,1 and all other load modifying factors, see 5.6, taken as 1.”
