This part of IEC 60794 is a family specification that specifies requirements for indoor simplex and duplex optical fibre cables for use in terminated cable assemblies or as used for termination of passive components.
NOTE The temperature cycling test parameters for the performance categories C and CHD for indoor controlled environment as well as the performance categories OP and OPHD for outdoor protected environment are included in this standard, as the same type of cables are often used for outdoor protected environment as for indoor controlled environment. The performance categories and operating service environments are defined in IEC 61753-1 [1].
