– IEC 60068-2-31:2008 [2] Drop & Topple, rough handling shocks, primarily for equipment type specimens
– IEC 60068-2-53:2010 [3] Combined Climatic (temperature and humidity) & Dynamic (shock and vibration),
– IEC 60068-2-55:2013 [4] Loose cargo testing including Bounce,
– IEC 60068-2-57:2013 [5] Time History and sine beat method,
– IEC 60068-2-75:2014 [6] Hammer tests,

– IEC 60068-2-85:2019 [8] Long Time History
When choosing an appropriate shock test, the environmental conditions, especially the dynamic conditions for the specimen, should ideally be known. This document provides guidance for establishing the type of shock to enable decisions to be made on the most applicable environmental shock test method.
In this document, test specifiers will find information concerning shock test methods and guidance for their selection. For guidance on test parameters, or severities of one of the test methods, reference should be made to IEC 60721-3 (all parts) [11] and IEC 60721-4 (all parts) [12].
