This document lays down safety criteria and inspection procedures for the regular use of wire sling ropes.

NOTE 1 The specifications and testing of slings are specified in ISO 7531.

NOTE 2 The use of wire rope slings is frequently covered by national regulations; these would take precedence over this document.
