Scope

This third part of IEC 60350 specifies methods for measuring the performance of electric steam ovens and combination steam ovens for household and similar use whereby the cavity volume is ≥10L.

Appliances covered by this document can be built-in or for placing on a working surface or the floor. The steam oven can be part of a cooking range . This document is also applicable to portable appliances with similar functionalities. This document is not applicable for small cavity ovens.

The appliances covered by this document can be with or without microwave function.

NOTE For thermal heat, performance characteristics and energy consumption measurements are specified in IEC 60350-1:2023 [1] . For microwave function, the measurements are specified in IEC 60705:2024 [2] .

This document defines the main performance characteristics of these appliances that are of interest to the user and specifies methods for measuring these characteristics.

This document does not specify a classification or ranking for performance, and it does not deal with safety requirements.
