This document is a part of the ISO/IEC 80000 series. It establishes principles for writing and printing of symbols for quantities which are time-dependent.
The aim of this standard is to codify additional symbols for the components of a combination of functions or for special values (e.g. instantaneous, root-mean-square) of more complicated time-dependent quantities (e.g. modulated waves, sets of impulses). In this connection, it is considered highly desirable to have a language-independent system of symbols.
