This document establishes the reference dictionary of the general description of electromechanical elementary relays, electrical relays sockets and accessories classes based on defined properties.
This dictionary is used to facilitate the exchange in electronic format of data describing electromechanical elementary relays, electrical relays sockets and accessories.
It may also be used for the description of other electrical relays within the scope of IEC TC 94 and beyond. This applies in particular to general aspects, unless another data dictionary is specified.
This document contains clear and unambiguous definitions of a limited number of properties and classes that are mainly used for the presentation, selection and identification of products, especially in electronic catalogues, electronic datasheets and in electronic data interchange.
Each property has an unambiguously defined meaning and naming, and where relevant, a defined value list, a defined format and a defined unit.
The properties are useable for the description of other kinds of electrical relays and for components and devices.
The intention is not to cover manufacturer specific features.
Electrical relays that fall within the scope of TC 94 are elementary relays (e.g. electromechanical relays, solid-state relays, coupling relays, reed relays), reed contacts, reed switches, time relays and technological combinations thereof.
