This document specifies methods for the determination of polyglutamic acid content in fertilizers using high-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS), dansyl chloride pre-column derivatization high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and amino acid analyzer methods.
This document applies to liquid or solid polyglutamic acid fertilizers, soil conditioners, and beneficial substances produced by microbial fermentation; it also applies to fertilizers containing added polyglutamic acid without other components that produce glutamic acid after hydrolysis with hydrochloric acid solution.
