Scope

This document specifies content conformance and packaging requirements for the long-term preservation of EPUB 3 publications. It represents a more constrained subset of EPUB as permitted by EPUB 3.0.1, ISO/IEC 23736 and EPUB 3.3.

Markup authoring is not within the scope of this document, except where it directly affects the preservability of EPUB/A publications.
