Scope

This British Standard gives recommendations on designing, assembling and reviewing fluid power circuits incorporated into machinery to identify and implement performance levels for fault tolerance.

This standard is intended to be used by those carrying out factory acceptance testing and commissioning as a measure of good practice. It is also intended to be used by machine manufacturers, system integrators and those modifying or upgrading machinery.

For machines which are covered by the scope of a Type-C standard, and which have been designed and built in accordance with that standard, the requirements of the Type-C standards take precedence.
