This part of IEC 61869 is a product standard and covers additional requirements for low power voltage transformers (LPVT), with both passive and active technologies (EVT), used for AC applications having rated frequencies from 15 Hz to 400 Hz and nominal voltage above 1 kV.
An LPVT may include any arrangement of electrical, electronic, optical, magnetic or other technologies.
For analogue secondary signal, this standard specifies rated secondary voltage.
For digital secondary signal, this standard refers to IEC 61869-9.
