Scope

This part of ISO 24409 catalogues standardized safety signs and fire control plan signs for use on board ships. Each sign in this part of ISO 24409 is categorized and indexed according to the message it conveys. This part of ISO 24409 also includes signs which require supplementary text signs to improve comprehension. Though the signs in this catalogue will largely remain static, new signs will be added as requirements are identified and corresponding safety signs and fire control plan signs are developed and standardized.
