This standard specifies a training model for human participants involved in corpus annotation projects, as defined in ISO 24635-1 Corpus Annotation Project Management - Part 1: Core Model.
It provides a structured framework for planning, implementing, and evaluating training activities to develop the competence of project participants, including project managers, guideline writers, annotators, validators, and supporting staff.
The training model is applicable to corpus annotation projects of different scales (from small to large) and across different languages and domains, regardless of the type of corpus—such as text, speech, multimodal, or other language data—provided that the projects follow the principles and workflow defined in ISO 24635-1.
While many principles described herein may also be referenced when selecting or operating software tools or agents used in annotation processes, the training of such systems or artificial-intelligence agents is outside the scope of this document.
