Scope

This pPart 2 of IEC 60598 specifies requirements for ground recessed luminaires incorporating electric light sources for operation from supply voltages up to 1 000 V, for indoor or outdoor use, e.g. in gardens, yards, carriageways, parking lots, cycleways, footways, pedestrian areas, swimming pools areas outside zones for SELV, nurseries and similar applications.This part does not cover ground recessed luminaires for motorised roads and for airfields already specified in IEC 61827[2].This partdocument does not coverapply to ground recessed luminaires for airfields already specified in IEC TS 618272.Note 1: For luminaires to be installed in a road for vehicles in addition to the requirements of this document, additional and more stringent constructional requirements maycan be required by regional or other regulations.Note 2: Examples of different types of ground recessed luminaires covered by this document are given in Annex AAA The references of SectionClause 0 of IEC 60598-1 apply. This clause of Part 1 applies
