This document specifies the general requirements for a quality management system concerning ship environmental data. It applies to newly generated data values during the processing and transmission of ship environmental data on board, in accordance with the Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plan (SEEMP) and Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) Plans.
This document covers:
— monitoring and correction of data discrepancies that may occur during the transmission of collected data from ship to shore for the final report;
— on board data collection processes to ensure accuracy and reliability.
This document focuses on data based on the IMO Data Collection System (DCS) and the EU MRV scheme, while also considering potential impacts or amendments from other international or regional regulations. This document is not limited to the IMO DCS and the Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII) but also extends to other environmental indexes required by regional regulations, such as those introduced under the EU Fit for 55 package.
This document does not cover:
— methodologies for performing calculations based on aggregated data;
— methods of data origination such as sensors, human measurements, or manual entry;
— design or operational requirements of shipboard systems and equipment used to collect data.
