This document specifies general requirements for the provision of interpreting services. Additionally, it provides recommendations of good practice.

NOTE Interpreting specializations/specialized interpreting services are covered in other International Standards (e.g., ISO 13611, ISO 20228, ISO 21998 and ISO 23155).

In this document, interpreting refers to the activity performed by human beings to convey spoken or signed content from one language to another. AI-driven interpreting is outside the scope of this document.
