Scope

This document specifies the general inspection and test requirements for the factory test of liquid hydrogen valves to be used on hydrogen ships. These test procedures are applicable for liquid hydrogen valves of liquid hydrogen (LH2) carriers or liquid hydrogen (LH2) bunkering vessels. This document applies to all valves in the liquid hydrogen systems, such as gate, globe, check, ball and butterfly valves, and contains the minimum test requirements to be observed. Functions that are specific to a manufacturer and any onboard tests or specification required by client are not included.
