Scope

This document describes an analytical procedure for the determination of trace elements in lithium composite oxides for Li-Ion batteries (LiBs).

The particular elements within the scope of this method are:

aluminum (Al), barium (Ba), boron (B), calcium (Ca), chromium (Cr), copper (Cu), iron (Fe), lead (Pb), manganese (Mn), magnesium (Mg), molybdenum (Mo), nickel (Ni), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), sodium (Na), strontium (Sr), sulfur (S), tin (Sn), titanium (Ti), vanadium (V), zinc (Zn), zirconium (Zr) may be found in lithium materials.

Note 1 The main components have not to be analyzed by this method.

Note 2 The method is applicable for the other elements listed above, provided the user has verified the applicability.
