Scope

ISO 4306 establishes a vocabulary of the most commonly used terms in the field of cranes.

This part of ISO 4306 defines terms concerning the main crane types and classifications, parameters, general concepts and component parts.

NOTE 1 Diagrams illustrating some of the definitions are given only for general guidance.

NOTE 2 Definitions may include alternate terms that are not preferred.
