Overview: Under the direction of EH/1 is responsible for the UK input into ISO/TC 43/SC 1 and standardization in the field of underwater acoustics (including natural, biological, and anthopogenic sound), including methods of measurement and assessment of the generation, propagation and reception of underwater sound and its reflection and scattering in the water environment including the seabed, sea surface and biological organisms. It also includes all aspects of the effects of underwater sound on the underwater environment, humans and aquatic life.
