Overview: Under the direction of EXL/31 is responsible for British Standards for electrical apparatus for the detection and measurement of combustible gas mixtures and toxic gases in group 1 (mines susceptible to firedamp) applications, and in domestic and non-domestic group 2 (other than mines susceptible to firedamp) applications, and to participate in any European or international work on this subject.
