Overview: Under the direction of PH/2, is responsible for the preparation of British standards for eye protection against hazards normally encountered in places of work (other than ionizing radiation and excluding eye protectors for vehicle users). In the case of eye protection against non-ionizing radiation this responsibility extends to protection of associated areas of the head, to be responsible for the UK input to these items of work on the programme of CEN/TC 85 Eye protective equipment and for the UK input to CEN/TC 85 WG6, Basic standards - Specifications - Optical and non-optical test methods, WG7 Face and eye protection equipment for welding and WG8 Face and eye protection - Equipment for professional use other than welding and excluding visors for motorcycle helmets.
