Overview: EH/3/6 under the direction of the parent committee EH/3 for Water Quality is responsible for developing British Standards in the field of sampling for water quality assessment. All aspects of water quality are covered to fulfil the needs and anticipated advances of the UK market. This includes the creation, consideration, review and production of a diverse but consistent set of methods for waste water, environmental and water for human consumption together with the requirements of the built environment. In addition, the committee also provides significant input into European and International Standards development by mirroring the work programmes in CEN and ISO Technical Committees through active participation in CEN/TC 230 and ISO/TC 147. The committee is constituted of UK industry experts who are all representatives of relevant industry bodies and/or individual experts who bring their specific skills and experience to developing robust and meaningful standards to advance key areas of water quality concern. The committee has a varied work programme, developing British Standards to address specific concerns or needs highlighted by UK industry, as well as participating in or European and ISO Standards work at various stages of development, from proposal and inception through to active drafting as well as standards under systematic review.
