Scope

In addition to common the requirements given in EN 15182-1:—, this document specifies the specific safety and performance requirements and the corresponding test methods, applicable to hand-held high pressure branchpipes (nozzles) with a nominal pressure of 40 bar (4,0 MPa) PN 40, with a maximum flow rate up to 250 l/min at a reference pressure of 6 bar (0,6 MPa).

These branchpipes are used for example for quick attack lines, building fires, forest fires, etc.

Purpose

This has been adapted to the current state of the art. It provides a minimum level of safety and performance criteria.

Its purpose is not to define a specific branchpipe design but to help the user in understanding and choosing the correct equipment.
