This standard applies to coals and products of their processing (coals brown and lignites, hard coals, anthracites, sorted and enriched coals, agglomerated fuel, coke, semi-coke - hereinafter referred to as solid fuel) and sets methods for determining the ignition temperature and self-ignition of solid fuel. The ignition and self-ignition temperature are determined in order to ensuring fire safety and explosion safety of production conditions, storage, transportation and use of solid fuels.
The standard is intended for use by manufacturers (suppliers) and consumers, government agencies, conformity assessment bodies and testing laboratories, research organizations, other legal entities and individuals working with solid fuels.
There is no standard in the world community for a method for determining the ignition temperature and self-ignition of solid fuels. Meanwhile, indicators of ignition temperature and self-ignition are necessary to assess the fire and explosion hazard of coals and their processed products in the process of production, storage, transportation and use of products. These indicators relate to the characteristics of goods for transportation by vehicles. The draft standard being developed should contribute to: - ensuring fire and explosion safety of solid fuel during storage, transportation and use; - elimination of technical barriers to trade in solid fuels on the international market. The draft standard being developed establishes requirements for regulatory documents, terms and definitions, sampling and preparation of samples, testing, processing of the results of their convergence and reproducibility in determining the ignition temperature and self-ignition of solid fuels.
