Fabricated of seamless metallic or welded construction (Type 1) or of composite construction (Types 2, 3, 4 and 5) regardless of reinforcement (metallic or non-metallic).
This document is not applicable to pressure vessels used for:
a) solid storage matrix for hydrogen,
b) liquid hydrogen or,
c) hybrid cryogenic high-pressure hydrogen storage applications.
This document is not applicable to closures, valves, fittings, plugs or external piping
To continue the existing project of WG15 led by Mr. John Eihusen, convener from the U.S. and Prof. Nobuhiro Yoshikawa, project leader from Japan. The project was cancelled by CIB prior to its expiry date of June 09, 2023. The project was transiting from CD to DIS but required more time to resolve the comments received on CD.
This NP seeks approval to continue the resolution of CD comments and move to DIS circulation.
The development of hydrogen as a global energy carrier requires uniform progress in gaseous storage and handling infrastructure. Standardization of the methods to verify and validate the overall safety of the gaseous hydrogen infrastructure will be key to facilitating its market acceptance and integration into the overall global energy stream. The formalization of safety requirements across world markets allows the free flow of common technology and faster integration of hydrogen resulting in lower overall carbon emissions in the global climate goals.
